By-laws of the Batavia Society of Artists, Batavia, New York

Article I: Membership and dues:
    A. The membership classifications shall be:
        1. Full members shall be either individual or family members (couple) and shall be expected to further the interests of the Batavia Society of Artists interests as follows:
            a. Attend meetings.
            b. Exhibit at Batavia Society of Artists shows.
            c. Will be expected to serve on committees.
        2.Student members shall enjoy all the privileges of full members.
        3. Lifetime membership.
    B. Dues:
        1. Annual dues will cover a 12 month period from January to December and will be payable the first meeting in January.
        2. Dues for partial year membership will be the same as full year.
        3. Any member whose dues are in arrears for more then three months shall be dropped from the membership rolls.
        4.The amount of the dues for each category of membership shall be as follows:
            a. Individual - $ 20.00.
            b. Couple - $25.00.
            c. Student - $10.00.
            d. Guest - $3.00 per meeting.

Article II: Duties of Leadership:
    A. Executive Board:
        1. Organize itself.
        2. Appoint committees, position, and offices as necessary.
        3. Assure that minutes are taken at all meetings and tendered to the membership.
        4. Assure that programs, exhibitions and other activities are planed, presented and promoted.
        5. Assure that correspondence is carried out.
        6. Assure that the Batavia Society of Artists Newsletter is published.
        7. Assure that the Batavia Society of Artists Web Page is maintained.
        8. Assure that the Historian is furnished with all Batavia Society of Artists meeting minutes, correspondence and other pertinent documents.
        9. Assure that scholarship program is maintained.
    B. Treasurer:
        1. Collect dues.
        2. Maintain a current membership list with name, addresses, phone number and e-mail address.
        3. Provide current membership name, addresses for newsletter mailing.
        4. Keep accounts current, pay all bills and expenses.
        5.Submit a report to the membership at all meetings.
        6. Prepare and submit annual report to the membership.
    C. Historian :
        1. Assure that historical record of all activities pertinent to the Batavia Society of Artists is maintained.

Article III: Meetings:
    A. Monthly meetings will be held the 2nd and or 4th Tuesday of the month unless otherwise specified.

Article IV: Amendments:
    A. Amendments to the By-laws may be made at any general meeting by a majority affirmative vote of the members in attendance, following a ten day written notice to the membership.
