The Batavia Society of Artists, Batavia, New York 14021 was
organized in 1950 to encourage the artistic endeavors and
high standards through exhibitions, art demonstrations,
discussion groups, and lectures, to encourage cooperation and
exchange ideas between members of the art community in and
around Batavia, NY
Each year, the BSA holds two, month long, member
exhibitions at the Richmond Memorial
Library in Batavia, New York.
The BSA holds meetings with guest artists who demonstrate
their talents to our membership and guests. Unless
otherwise announced, meetings are held March - December at
7:00 PM at:
201 East Main Street

September 9th- Watercolor demo by Linda Metcalf - Linda will demonstrate a painting with watercolor
using the techniques of negative painting to achieve a final painting. This same method can be used to enhance existing work. Linda Metcalf's Bio

Alden Art Show
One of Western New York's longest running art shows, the Alden Art Show, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. September 7 and feature the work of many local and close-by juried artisans. This family friendly event will take place on the grounds of the Alden Firemen's Park and Bandstand Park (Broadway & Church Sts.) right in the heart of the Village of Alden.
The show will consist of artists and crafts participants, offer cash awards and "Best of Show" ribbons. The Alden Library will be having its book sale, the Alden Historical Society Building will be open (2-4pm) and there will be a Chicken Bar-B-Q on the grounds in addition to local food, refreshment and dessert establishments just a short walk from the park.
Please come and view works in watercolor, acrylic, photography, pastels, pen & ink, charcoal, graphite, abstract, mixed media, sculptures, glass, pottery, wood, and jewelry just to mention a few.
